Details of the upcoming Chromebook Pro from Samsung were accidentally released on various websites, according to this Techspot update. The codename for the upcoming Samsung Chromebook Pro is “Kevin”. The listing appeared on one of the online retail stores but since it was released “by mistake” the listing was quickly removed.

The Chromebook, as the name suggests, runs on the Chrome OS, a browser-based operating system. When you use a Chromebook, everything is saved on the cloud. The minute you boot, you are logged into the Chrome browser, and whatever is there on your Chromebook is basically in the cloud. Chromebooks are among the lightest portable laptops available. The Chromebook laptops were initially introduced by Google since the Chrome browser belongs to the company, but after that many electronics companies launched their own versions of Chromebooks. The basic idea behind the Chromebook is to do away with local file storage of the for the time being it cannot be completely eliminated. Besides, you need some sort of local storage to run the software that can help you bought the Chromebook and then log onto the Internet.

The Samsung Chromebook Pro may have a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 2400 x 1600. Just like most of the portable laptops coming these days, you will be able to rotate its screen almost 360 degrees (around the joint). The Samsung Chromebook Pro will be the first Chromebook laptop coming with a stylus. The Chromebook laptop will have a very slim bezel, and all-metallic, 0.5-inch-thick chassis. It may be just little over 1 kg. According to the leaked details, the Samsung Chromebook Pro runs on a hexa-core processor, has 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. As is the case with most of the portable laptops these days, Chromebook Pro will have USB Type-C ports. It will have a headphone jack and an SD card slot. According to the details, it’s battery may last 10 hours on a single charge.

It’s going to cost around $500. Somewhere around the world Samsung Chromebook Pro should be available by October 24, 2016.
