Just as half of the world’s wealth belongs to just 1% of the population, the same sort of rule applies on the Internet. The top 100 websites on the Internet – the data is mostly US-based – lap up most of the traffic. Here is the infographic of the top 100 websites on the Internet the most traffic:

The infographic has been prepared by Voiden, a web hosting company.

The top website is of course Google.com with 28 billion visits per month. Even the second website, YouTube, with 20.5 billion visits per month, belongs to Google. Surprisingly, when almost everybody seems to be using Facebook these days, the social networking website is third.

E-commerce websites are a surprise – Amazon is fourth and eBay is eighth. Even Etsy is at the 42nd place.

Vimeo is a surprise. It is often considered as a YouTube alternative but whereas YouTube’s number two, Vimeo is 91. Netflix is at number 10. I never knew there existed a website called 123movies.is!

Before these websites can compete for the number one spot, they first need to make sure that their website has been set up in a professional manner. For example, they will need to make sure that the design of their website is easy to navigate, as well as making sure that all of the correct information is there. Not only that, but incorporating a sufficient web host, like typo3 hosting, will enable them to share their website with the entirety of the internet. If people can’t find your website in the search engines, you won’t have the opportunity to increase your traffic. The more traffic you have, the better your website will perform in the long run. And as these websites have all performed well, it’s possible that they’ve utilized all of the methods they need to make it the best they can.
