Taking the usual screenshot of your Android phone is quite simple: just press the Power button and the Home button of your Android phone and this takes a screenshot (Power + Home). But this method takes the screenshot of only the visible area. What if you want to take the complete screenshot of a scrollable screen on your Android phone?
Taking a complete screenshot of a scrollable screen of your Android phone means that you have one single image file of the entire contents of the screen, not just the visible area. Even that part of the screen should be captured that you cannot see right now and you need to scroll up or down in order to see it. This is what we mean by a complete screenshot of a scrollable screen.
Why sometimes you have to take a complete screenshot of a scrollable screen of your Android phone?
Suppose you want to save a web page on your phone but the web page is scrollable and you need to save an image file rather than an HTML file. One way is to take individual screenshots of all the visible areas and then create a single file out of them but that can be quite a complicated task especially on your mobile phone. The easiest way of doing it would be to be able to take a complete screenshot of the scrollable screen.
If you want to take a complete screenshot of a scrollable webpage from a website, there is a cool website available called screenshotmachine.com. From your Android phone, launch your favourite browser like Google Chrome, Opera or Mozilla Firefox and go to this URL. It allows you to enter the name of your website or the URL you want to capture.
After entering the name of the website or the URL tap on the “start capture” button.
Once it has processed the website or the URL, it will ask you to tap on the Download button.
The image file will be loaded on your screen. Long-press it and it will give you an option to save the image. This is what I got of our TechBakBak.com homepage:
But what if you don’t want to take a complete screenshot of a scrollable webpage screen on your Android phone, but one of the applications? Or maybe you want to take a screenshot of the Settings area that you have to scroll a lot? Or sometimes you want to take a complete screenshot of an instant messaging conversation that you recently had?
For that you will need one of the Android screenshot apps.
An app that came recommended to me for taking complete screenshot of scrollable screen on an Android phone is Stitch & Share. Although this app does not take a complete screenshot of the entire scrollable screen, it allows you to take multiple screenshots and then stitch them together so that by the time you are done, you have a one, scrollable image. Yes, it requires some work, but at least if there is no other option, you can use this app to get a grab of the entire scrollable screen. It’s a free app, it does not have ads and if you are not taking 10 complete screenshots of scrollable screens every day and it is just an occasional necessity, then I think this app does the job well. Here is the video of the Stitch & Share app that you can use to take complete screenshots of a scrollable screen:
