Android apps like MightyText allow you to check text message notifications coming on your mobile phone whether you’re using a Windows 10 PC or any other variant (because you see the notifications in your browser). But what about checking your Android phone notifications on your PC and if possible, even responding to them?
Microsoft will be soon introducing a feature that will allow you to check your Android phone notifications directly on your Windows 10 PC.
The Android phone notifications that you will be able to check on your Windows 10 PC will be:
- Missed calls notifications
- SMSs and text messages via your carrier
- All other notifications like from social media feeds and instant messaging apps
Microsoft will be achieving this through the Cortana app for Android. Once you have configured the Cortana app properly on your Android phone you will not just be able to check your notifications on your PC, you will also be able to respond to them.
How will Microsoft achieve this? Cortana for Android will store all the notifications in the cloud so that they can be mirrored onto Windows 10 PC. You will also be able to dismiss the notifications on your Android phone from your Windows 10 PC.
You will be able to check your Android phone notifications on your Windows 10 PC as well as Windows 10 mobile phones.
Is this feature already available? Not yet. This feature is being contemplated by Microsoft and it will be introduced in a future version of Windows.
Is it available on iPhones? No, because the iOS is a lot more restricted.
