Artificial Intelligence can tackle extremist propaganda as well as online abuse and harassment

Online abuse and harassment on the Internet is a big problem. Many people have been victims of online abuse and harassment but now artificial intelligence may come to their rescue. Artificial intelligence may be able to nip the problem in the bud by identifying online abuse and harassment and eliminating it before it can have a negative impact on its victims. The same technology is already being used to curb down the ISIS propaganda online.

The Google subsidiary Jigsaw is working on an artificial intelligence tool called Conversation AI. This tool will be using machine learning, according to this Wired update, to automatically spot abusive and harassing language and filter out hateful messages on websites like Twitter and Facebook. According to Jared Cohen, Jigsaw founder and president, “I want to use the best technology we have at our disposal to begin to take on trolling and other nefarious tactics that give hostile voices disproportionate weight.”

Conversation AI from Jigsaw of his being projected to be far better than any human-supported methodology used to weed out abusive and harassing messages on the Internet.
